چکیده

This is joint work with Ana Dias (University of Porto). A coupled cell network consists of a finite set of nodes (the cells) and a finite number of arrows. The cells represent the individual dynamics and the arrows the interactions between the individuals. An equivalence relation on the set of nodes can be defined symbolizing the following; two nodes are in the same cell equivalence class if they represent individual dynamics with the same state space. Given an equivalence relation ⊲⊳ on the set of cells, refining the cell equivalence relation, choose a coloring of the cells by setting cells in the same equivalence class with the same color. The equivalence relation ⊲⊳ is balanced if given any two cells of the same color, there is a color-preserving bijection between the corresponding sets of cells that are coupled to them. A polydiagonal is a subspace of the phase space of a coupled cell system considering equalities of certain groups of cell coordinates. A polydiagonal is called a synchrony subspace if it is invariant by the flow of any coupled cell system admissible by the network structure. Stewart and Golubitsky presented a criterion, involving only the network structure, to caracterize the synchrony subspaces; by considering the balanced equivalence relations on the set of cells of the network. Stewart proved that the set of all balanced equivalence relations of a network forms a complete lattice. We give a characterization of this lattice.

The Lattice of Synchrony Subspaces of a Coupled Cell Network: Characterization and Computation Algorithm

Coupled cell systems are networks of dynamical systems (the cells), where the links between the cells are described through the network structure, the coupled cell network. Synchrony subspaces are spaces defined in terms of equalities of certain cell coordinates that are flow-invariant for all coupled cell systems associated with a given network structure. The intersection of synchrony subspace...

Regular synchrony lattices for product coupled cell networks.

There are several ways for constructing (bigger) networks from smaller networks. We consider here the cartesian and the Kronecker (tensor) product networks. Our main aim is to determine a relation between the lattices of synchrony subspaces for a product network and the component networks of the product. In this sense, we show how to obtain the lattice of regular synchrony subspaces for a produ...

Synchrony and Elementary Operations on Coupled Cell Networks

Given a finite graph (network), let every node (cell) represent an individual dynamics given by a systemof ordinary differential equations, and every arrow (edge) encode the dynamical influence of the tail node on the head node. We then have defined a coupled cell system that is associated with the given network structure. Subspaces that are defined by equalities of cell coordinates and left in...

Dynamics of Coupled Cell Networks: Synchrony, Heteroclinic Cycles and Inflation

We consider the dynamics of small networks of coupled cells. We usually assume asymmetric inputs and no global or local symmetries in the network and consider equivalence of networks in this setting; that is, when two networks with different architectures give rise to the same set of possible dynamics. Focusing on transitive (strongly connected) networks that have only one type of cell (identic...

Homogeneous Coupled Cell Networks with S3-symmetric Quotient

A coupled cell network represents dynamical systems (the coupled cell systems) that can be seen as a set of individual dynamical systems (the cells) with interactions between them. Every coupled cell system associated to a network, when restricted to a flow-invariant subspace defined by the equality of certain cell coordinates, corresponds to a coupled cell system associated to a smaller networ...
